we went for coffee at the end of the rope, you wore your tweed coat. my heart's a grizzly bear displaced in your urban hope. when i still cared i thought maybe you would change and shift like a prairie thunder-head over the crops of our loves open range, but love is a mountain hike not a tennis match, a mountain hike not a tennis match; a peak scrambled, not a ball to catch. if you're going to dismantle me like an old appliance just to play, how am i supposed to tell you what i want to say? all my words sound hollow- you should have sheltered me with space: a field needs to be summer fallow. we went for coffee at the end of the rope. you wore your tweed coat. my heart's a grizzly bear displaced in your urban hope.
